The Russian-Greek percussionist Theodor Milkov is one of the most talented marimba player of now a days, whose repertoire includes music written for harpsichord and piano from baroque to classical epoch. His evolutionary ideas and technical abilities have brought the marimba to a new level of performance, thus allowing Theodor to attend lessons by the famous harpsichord player Jacques Ogg, and Maestro Ton Koopman at the Royal Conservatorium Den Haag.
Theodor has been giving master classes all over the world: Musikhochschule Detmold, and Muenster-Germany, Colburn School of Music Los Angeles- USA, Amsterdam Conservatorium-Netherlands, Ionian University in Corfu-Greece; and appearing as soloist in Concert Halls such as Concertgebouw Brugges – Belgium, Small Hall of Tchaikovsky Conservatorium – Russia , Musikgebouw Amsterdam- Netherlands. On the other hand; has also been invited as jury member at the Nürnberg Marimba Competition 2005-07, and worked as assistant of Prof. Peter Prommel at the Musikhochschule Detmold, Germany.
Theodor helds a Konzert Diplom as well as Kunstlerische Diplom from Musikhochschule Detmold. A Bachelor degree from the Musik Conservatorium Amsterdam, and Master degree from the Musik Konservatorium Den Haag, Holland.
Theodor is assistant timpani at Athens State Orchestra, in Greece.
