Studio Milkov is an eight-week training program, suitable for university-level, pre-professional, or advanced players of any age who are eager to work on their personal growth as musicians.

A maximum of 20 students will be accepted into the program, which will provide

  • Private Lessons

  • Studio Classes

  • Group Workshops

  • Lectures

  • Concerts

  • Guest Lectures

  • Progress Evaluations for each student separately

This truly unique, innovative and modern approach to music education is meticulously designed to help percussionists and marimba soloists develop their skills on the marimba.

The program will take place three times throughout the year

  • Winter Term (Jan 5th - Mar 2nd, 2023 - registration deadline January 1st,)

  • Spring Term ( May 4th - June 30th, 2023 - registration deadline April 20th )

  • Autumn Term (Sep 15st - Nov 10th, 2023 - registration deadline August 20th)

The eight-week program will be divided into two-week segments focusing on the following topics

  • Technique Application of the Pianistic Approach using my new book, “Four Mallet Method - My Pianistic Approach”

  • Musical Structure / Harmonic Analysis

  • Bulletproof Mindset for Practicing / Performance Anxiety / Auditions

  • Development of Phrasiology and Sound Production

  • Repertoire development based on the level of each student

    A demanding and rewarding program for those who want to achieve rapid results, gain knowledge and experience the satisfaction that stems from personal growth.

    Each Participant is involved in total of

  • 4 short concerts by Theodor Milkov

  • 8 private lessons ( 60 minutes each )

  • 8 studio classes ( 120 minutes each. Informal performance/discussion between students)

  • 8 Group Workshops

  • 8 Lectures by Theodor Milkov ( 60 min each)- Polyphonic Structure of J. S. Bach Cello suits / Sound Production ( Touché ) / Moeller Technique Application / Development of Phrasiology / Visualization as Practicing Method / Master Your Practice / Performance Anxiety and Auditions / Career development/

  • Private evaluation meeting with Theo every two weeks (15 minutes each)

  • 2 Guest Lectures ( 60 min each)

Details

  • Prior to the start of the term, participants are required to send a short video introducing themselves and demonstrating their musical ability on the marimba ( 5 minutes maximum). Additionally a Zoom call with Theodor will be scheduled in order to create a personal program addressing the specific needs of each student.

  • Special focus on auditions / entry examinations / final exams will be discussed with each participant during the interview prior to the start each term, if desired.

  • A detailed schedule will be made in coordination with each participant and will be sent one week before the term begins.

  • Tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE and any lessons, classes, etc will not be rescheduled if unattended by the student (an exception may be granted in the event of illness or other emergency, at the discretion of Theodor Milkov).

  • All lessons will be arranged at a mutually agreed upon time before the start of term. I will do my best to accommodate all time zones for studio classes, master classes, concerts and recitals, although I cannot guarantee that these times will work for all participants. Most classes outside of lessons will start between 7-9 PM, Athens time (GMT+2).

  • All lessons and events will take place via Zoom , therefore all participants are required to have their equipment ready and be familiar with the Zoom App.

  • An external microphone connected to your PC or Laptop is required for adequate sound quality.

  • A direct ethernet connection between your PC or Laptop and router is preferred to prevent buffering. All that is needed to accomplish this is an ethernet cable and a USB adapter (if your computer does not have an ethernet port).

  • All music/additional material will be sent to each participant as a PDF

  • After tuition payment is made and the registration form is completed, Theodor will contact you directly.

  • Full tuition is 800 euros (Tuition is NON-REFUNDABLE). Please see below for payment options:

  • A) One-time payment of 800 euros B) Two payments of 400 euros. Payment deadline is one week before the start of the term and a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of 320 euros is due at registration if tuition is not paid in full.
